KOS executes the activities pertaining to the operation of an entire unit of the Plant.
KOS operates in compliance with the quality requirements, health/environmental/safety regulations and follows the stated procedures.
Duties and responsibilities
KOS is responsible for maintaining the operation in a safe condition, and with a written instruction of COM, the plant/unit/equipment at the MCR or maximum efficiency point, keeping the production or another detectable parameter at a higher point. In case of trip or partial load, KOS shall supervise operations personnel to rectify any process upset or faults and restore production capacity;
To organize and manage the operations in the field of the assigned team by controlling their job and the implementation of Plant Safety procedures in case of emergency;
To check that the safe conditions for maintenance teams are in place before issuing the Permit to Work;
KOS issues PTW (permits to work) and is responsible for the safety condition of the item being under maintenance applying the lockout procedure;
KOS must also apply all other safety procedures in compliance with the Site Safety Plan;
With the change of the shift, the shift supervisor leaving the plant has to inform the coming shift supervisor of the plant condition and undergoing test or operations with written notice on the log book, ensuring that the coming shift supervisor has a clear picture of the plant condition;
After the synchronization tests, he must manage, if necessary, any communication with the local electrical grid coordinator;
KOS shall liaise with his colleague at the start of his shift to familiarise himself with the events of the previous shift;
Checks the plant in each one of its systems and especially in its running equipment to identify possible troubles;
Checks alarms and blocks on DCS alarm page;
Organizes normal assistance to the maintenance team during their job;
Reports to his colleagues any problems that arise during his shift. (Any problems must be documented in the control room logbook);
Is responsible for filling in the control room logbook with all remarks needed about operation, maintenance, trip and incident occurring during the shift.

Suitable apprenticeship with an operations background and appropriate training

Experience
Knowledge of Univation technology and/or Unipol, Basell and Sumitomo.
